Fade to Blue

Sunset in the Ochoco mountains, Oregon. I shot this the night before Shadows on the Sun, the dead tree on the left was a particularly interesting subject to me - it was struck by lightning about a year ago (it has a very cool-looking crack that spirals around the trunk, I took some pictures, but unfortunately they turned out a little dark). Its silhouette is downright creepy. I spent a while taking photos of this scene either standing or crouching - then I noticed all the reeds and scrub at my feet, so I got down on my knees and elbows to frame them in this shot, which turned out the be the best from that night.
